Experience a full day hike on an established trail leading into the alpine. Challenge your muscles to climb through various ecosystems and learn about the wildlife and diverse plant adaptations. Diamonds is from five hours up to eight hours of walking, appropriate and enjoyable for all levels and ages, considering we guarantee to match your pace.
Majestic Ridges
If you love to wonder at the foot of impressive granite peaks, potentially scramble to their top or trek off trail, this hike is for you. With your interpretive guide learn about the signs of mountain goats or grizzly bear and feast on the diversity of flora and fauna around you. Majestic Ridges is a full day hike requiring good physical fitness and balance.
Interpretive Theme Hikes
If you love learning about the environment you are traveling through, join a special theme hike . Depending on the location and season, you will learn the unique stories behind the biology and ecology linking plant to animal and elevation to critter. Join your interpreter for a half day walk or full day hike on a trail that best suits your level and interests.

Choose from our diverse trails list, see favorite trails . As an exclusive group, you determine the level of challenge and location. In order to ensure hikes are available, please book as far advance as possible. One day notice may not guarantee you a guide, but try us!
You could also consider joining other hikers on pre-booked daily guided alpine hikes or interpretive walks .
For those of you that live by chocolate, add fondue to your day! Savor an afternoon organic lunch from a peak and garner energy for the rest of your day.
What you need to know…
Ø A locally made organic lunch & beverage can be provided for you ($15 per person). Please request in advance. Ensure to also bring a full water bottle.
Ø We take a maximum of 8 people per guide for low ecological impact and your enjoyment. Youth are welcome, providing they can easily walk the distance.
Ø A waiver must be signer prior to the walk hike.
Ø Proper equipment is necessary for safety and comfort. Bring sturdy footwear with good grip, hat & gloves, sunscreen & sunhat, rain gear. Talk to us for hiking tips or additional suggestions.
Ø We can provide some extra equipment such as poles, back packs, water bottles, if necessary.
Ø We provide a French speaking guide if requested.
Ø We require you to meet us at a designated time and place in Nelson. Generally alpine hikes leave town by 8 am and return by 6 pm. Interpretive walks meet at 10 am and return by 3-4 pm.
Ø We can provide transportation to the trailhead for an additional cost; please request in advance. If you choose to drive to the trailhead, you need a high clearance four wheel drive vehicle.
